El Campeonato Mundial de Motocross MXGP tendrá su 4ª cita en México, los días 1 y 2 de abril, en el Parque Metropolitano de León, en Guanajuato.
22 pilotos profesionales en la máxima categoría MXGP (motos de 450 cc) que, aunque se registran 23, el francés Jordi Tixier no hará el viaje por lesión. En esta categoría veremos a 2 pilotos mexicanos, Eduardo Andrade (participó también en el 2016) y este 2017 se sumará Julio César Zambrano. En la clase MX2, habrá 32 pilotos, todos ellos extranjeros, pues no tendremos representación mexicana.
En el gran premio de Argentina, se animaron a correr 5 en la clase MX2, además de 10 en la clase de MXGP, sin contar a chilenos, peruanos y ecuatorianos que también participaron.
