Jean Ramos de Brasil, Martin Castelo de Ecuador y el mexicano Julio Cesar Zambrano actual Campeón Nacional de Motocross, estuvieron entre los 40 mejores pilotos de la categoría 250, en el arranque del AMA y Mundial de Supercross en Anaheim, California.
Para llegar a este sitio, tuvieron que clasificar por tiempos, logrando el primer objetivo. El segundo es, formarse en el evento principal, donde solo hay 22 espacios, por tal motivo se realizan 2 mangas donde clasifican 8 en cada una, y una última llamada LCQ donde entran 4.
Zambrano buscó uno de los 22 espacios para el evento principal en el Heat 1. Se colocó en la posición 17, por tal motivo se tuvo que formar a la última carrera LCQ. En ésta, se colocó en el sitio 14. Por su parte, Castelo y Ramos también fueron al LCQ donde el brasileño con un 4º pudo participar en el evento principal y sumar sus primeros 4 puntos gracia a un 19º.
